In recent years, the Islamic regime of Iran has implemented the most brutal anti-
labour policies, including barbaric working condition and below-poverty
minimum wage whilst actively preventing any unified national industrial action
and protest. Pressure on labour organisers and leaders has intensified.
The capitalist ruling class in Iran aims to isolate and weaken the resistance of the
working people with its harsh employment and economic conditions. Various
government departments and the military, security and intelligence apparatus are
harassing labour organisers and well-known leaders of the labour movement by
arresting and imprisoning them as well as attacking protests and industrial
actions to suppress any opposition to the unbearable living conditions.
In response to the increasing suppression, we are a group of labor activists over
the past few years have been forced to leave Iran, have come together to launch a
campaign in support of the working class movement in Iran.
In this campaign we are directly in contact with former colleagues and other labor
and social activists and they are involved in campaign activities.
We hope in cooperation with unions and other labor organizations, we can be
take serious steps in support of the workers and their struggles in Iran.
