The following is a statement by a group of Haft Tappeh workers on street protests following the shooting down of a Ukrainian airliner
Call to street protests: Dear colleagues and people of Haft Tappeh ,Shush,Andimeshk, Dezful, Khuzestan and the whole country
We are also saddened by the killing of the dear passengers of the plane crash by government forces and other tragedies that cannot even be counted; we grieve with all our being. We also express our condolences and protests
For this reason, along with other compatriots in other parts of [Khuzestan] province and in the country, we also go out into the streets and out of our homes to express our rage and to protest.
We protest against the thousands of other small and big problems, including privatisation, poverty, misery, repression, lack of freedom, bloodshed, war and missile launches, and wasting our wealth in proxy wars and adventures, arrests and detentions … and the suppression of popular protests in Iran and the region; and the military action in Iran and the region by all the governments involved, whether the Iranian government or other governments, and in a word, the current state of affairs in the country and the region.
Today, and on the next few days, we are going to the streets to protest
